BIMI Setup: The Unified Standard for Visual Trust
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is an email security protocol that displays your verified brand logo directly in the recipient's inbox to boost open rates and brand visibility. It requires a strict DMARC enforcement policy (p=quarantine or p=reject) and a compliant SVG Tiny PS asset signature.

Core Prerequisites
- Strict Enforcement: Policy must be
p=quarantine(100%) orp=reject. BIMI will not render onp=none. - SVG Tiny PS Asset: Your logo must be an SVG file compliant with the Tiny Portable/Secure profile (managed by SentraDMARC).
- VMC Ownership: A Verified Mark Certificate is required for display in Gmail and Apple Mail environments.
Hosted BIMI: The CNAME Strategy
SentraDMARC provides a CNAME-First delegation engine for BIMI. By pointing your default._bimi selector to our infrastructure, we automate asset sanitization, hosting, and certificate rotation.
RFC-Compliant Delegation
Information Gain: Instant Scaling
DIY BIMI means running a web server to host the logo and keeping its DNS in step. Hosted BIMI does both for you, and stores the VMC your certificate authority issues alongside the logo. Issuing and renewing that certificate stays with the CA — no platform can do it for you.
The Manual Friction
- • Constant SVG profile validation errors
- • Manual VMC certificate rotation every 12 months
- • Complex TXT record concatenation
SentraDMARC Automation
- • Auto-conversion to SVG-Tiny PS
- • Logo hosted and served over HTTPS from our zone
- • Host the VMC your CA issues (we cannot issue one)
