Understanding DMARC Reports

DMARC Aggregate Reports (RUA) are the heartbeat of email security. They provide a daily, comprehensive view of every server attempting to send email on behalf of your domain.

WHY IT MATTERS

The Visibility Gap: Most organizations don't know that 30-50% of their email traffic is generated by "Shadow IT" (unapproved 3rd party tools) or potential spoofing attacks. Without DMARC reports, you are flying blind.

What's Inside a Report?

Receivers (like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo) send XML data containing:

  • Source IP: Measurements of who sent the email.
  • Volume: How many emails were sent.
  • Authentication Results: Did SPF pass? Did DKIM pass?
  • Alignment Status: Did the sender match your domain?

The SentraDMARC Advantage

Raw XML reports are unreadable to humans. We process them into:

Threat Intelligence

We automatically flag known malicious IPs and geo-locate every sender.

Smart Categorization

We identify vendors (e.g., "Mailchimp", "Salesforce") so you don't have to guess IP addresses.
